These terms are the deal between you and CHUDBOARD for using CHUDBOARD — the app, this website, and the community library. By using CHUDBOARD, you agree to them.

Your licence to use CHUDBOARD

The core CHUDBOARD app is free. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use it for lawful personal and everyday use. We keep all rights, title, and interest in the app, its name, and its branding.

Accounts

Most of CHUDBOARD works without an account. A free account (username, email, password) is needed for the community library and for CHUDBOARD PRO. You verify your email with a one-time code at signup, and the same mechanism handles password recovery. Keep your password to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.

CHUDBOARD PRO subscriptions

CHUDBOARD PRO is an optional monthly subscription (currently US$6.99/month plus any applicable taxes) that unlocks additional features in the app — including unlimited sound tiles, longer sounds, the full voice-changer set, the COPYCAT tools, the phone remote, and installing sounds from the community library.

• Billing. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Polar Software Inc. ("Polar"), which handles checkout, payment methods, and applicable sales tax/VAT. Your purchase is also subject to Polar's own terms. We never see or store your card details.
• Renewal and cancellation. PRO renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime via the subscription management link in your Polar receipt email or by contacting us; you keep PRO until the end of the period you've paid for.
• What happens when PRO ends. Your sounds are never deleted. Features return to the free tier: your first 125 sounds stay playable, sounds beyond the free limits re-lock until you resubscribe, and anything you already uploaded to the community library stays published.
• Refunds. If something's broken or you believe you were charged in error, email [email protected] and we'll sort it out. Statutory refund rights in your country are unaffected.
• Price changes. If the price changes, we'll notify you in advance (via the app and/or the email on your account) before it applies to your next renewal.

Acceptable use

CHUDBOARD lets you play audio and change your voice on live calls. You are responsible for how you use it. You agree not to use CHUDBOARD to:

• harass, bully, defame, deceive, or impersonate anyone;
• record or capture other people's audio where you don't have the consent the law requires in your and their location;
• infringe anyone's copyright or other rights, or play or share audio you don't have the right to use;
• break any applicable law, or any rules of the platforms you use it with (Discord, games, Zoom, etc.).

Community library and your content

If you upload a sound to the community library, you keep ownership of it. You grant CHUDBOARD and its users a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, distribute, and play that sound within the CHUDBOARD app and service. You confirm that you have the rights to share it and that it isn't illegal, infringing, hateful, or otherwise harmful. We may remove any content and suspend or delete any account, at our discretion, to keep the service safe and lawful.

Third-party software

CHUDBOARD uses third-party components, including the VB-Cable driver from VB-Audio, and open-source libraries listed on our 3rd-Party Software page. Your use of those components is also governed by their own licences.

No warranty

CHUDBOARD is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every system or app.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, CHUDBOARD won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) CHUDBOARD. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Termination

You can stop using CHUDBOARD at any time. We may suspend or end your access to the service (especially the community library) if you break these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms; we'll post changes here and update the date. Continuing to use CHUDBOARD after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
